off to be quilted

While I do love every aspect of quilting, I have to say my favorite part today was dropping this monster off at my friend Carla's house to be quilted.  I calculated that with borders it came out to 99x118 but when Carla measured it was only 96.  Must be my seam allowances being a bit too big.  Oh, well, it will be what it will be when finished.  I'm sure it will stretch a little bit when she quilts it up.  Just putting the backing fabric together was a royal pain because it had to be so huge!

I do love making baby quilts and already am itching to get back in the sewing room and start the next project.  But first I had better clean up the mess I made from this one.  I have a terrible habit of not quite finishing something before starting the next thing and that is why everything is always a mess.

My little guy has his last day of school tomorrow and then I'm FREE!  Carla told me about a quilt show in Reno and now I'm going to look into seeing if it is possible to sneak away for the day on Thursday.

That is a beautiful quilt - have often thought of doing a red and black - and even have fabric that would work. This inspires me.

I'm with you on big quilts - I like them smaller too.
