Butt kicking

11 years ago I switched from teaching first grade to teaching high school.  I was scared to death!  I had a student way back then who became almost a daughter to our family.  She was on my husband's tennis team and was quite the spaz.  She had boy troubles and always came to us for advice.  I'm not sure how good of advice we gave her, because she had about a dozen boyfriends in the last 11 years.  Well, next Friday she is getting married to her very first boyfriend ever.  They are such a cute couple.

This is the beginning of their wedding quilt.  Two blocks down, how many more to go?  It is going to be king size.  I have no idea how big that is, but I do know it is going to be a big one!  Good thing I have a good friend, Carla who is going to quilt it for me :)

I needed a butt kicking to get started on this quilt today.  I have the worst migraine and with all of the stuff going on with my mother in law, don't really feel much like doing anything.  So, I put on my best butt kicking boots and decided that I had to at least cut the pieces.  Then, with that out of the way, I might as well make one block.  Once the first block was done, I had to see what another block looked like.  I hope to have a few extra blocks leftover because I love black/red and white quilts and I'm feeling like I really need a quilt for myself right about now.  I love all of the fabrics I picked out for this quilt so wouldn't mind having one just like this.

King size... quilt top no wider than 106" to fit on my frame. As long as you think you need it to be.

Looking forward to seeing it finished!

Back to my feather class....
