So, this lady walks into the doctor's office and says...

when I bend my writs backwards and quilt for 4 hours straight my wrist hurts really bad? What should I do? and the doctor says, stop doing that! Long story short, the doctor says my wrist isn't broken and it isn't carpel tunnel because of the sudden onset and he calls in the physical therapist and she gives me a few exercises to do for my wrist to increase the mobility to strengthen it (bend it up and down ten times--three times a day) and says it will be better in 4 to 6 weeks. YIKES! He gives me an ace bandage and sends me on my way. The physical therapist says I strained a tendon in my wrist from holding it in a funny position for so long and it will take some time to heal. It is good that I didn't do more damage, but it hurts now more than it did at the doctor's office. Why is that? Like when your car makes funny sounds except when you take it in to get fixed? My friend Carla's husband is doing some magic to my quilting machine so that I don't have to squeeze the foot pedal and there will be a switch I push to turn it on and off now instead. I should be back in business soon :)

I'm so glad to hear that there is no permanent damage to your wrists, but PLEASE, PLEASE take care that you do rest and alter the way you work to prevent more serious problems. This is from someone who suffered RSI in both wrists 10 years ago and still hasn't recovered to 'normal'.
LISTEN TO YOUR BODY :)
