I sent the first 6 quilts home today with my friend whose husband is on standby to fly to Japan. As soon as he gets the call, those 6 quilts will be on their way to the kids of Japan. We are working on making some drawstring bags to hold 10 quilts at a time because the pilots are going to be carrying the bags of quilts onto the planes themselves and it will be much easier to grab a bag of quilts and throw them onto the plane when you are in a hurry and not have to worry about setting them down carefully.
My friend Carla got some crazy fabric donated that feels like it is a bit waterproof. Perfect for this project. And there is about 10 yards of it! And I think she said it is NEON green. Don't forget the quilts! How could you?
I love it when a plan comes together...do you remember who used to say that? George Peppard from the A Team. I pitty the fool...that was Mr. T.
Ok, it's getting late and I have grades due on Monday and of course I haven't graded anything in a week so I have a whole weekend of grading ahead of me. Come rescue me if you don't hear from me in the next 48 hours.
I have lots of packages to post too! Thank you so much for your support on this project! Quilters are such special people!

I woke up this morning thinking I will announce tomorrow at church service that I have a source for getting quilts to Japan (YOU!) and will have open sewing the next few Saturdays to work together on them.
I also thought, "It's great when you just know something is coming together in a right way!"
That is so cool. Glad it's all coming together!
