This is a WOW God story. On Tuesday, I got notice that the shipping was being held up because Japan had not filed the paperwork saying they needed international aide after the earthquake and tsunami. Could it be that millions of people had lost homes and thousands had lost their lives and Japan could take care of their own needs?
(these boxes are 10 feet tall!)
Without the proper paperwork, Fed Ex would be responsible for paying all taxes and tarriffs on imports to Japan, even for nonprofits trying to help with relief efforts. It looked like our efforts to send over 1,000 handmade quilts to Japan was going to end with boxes of quilts finding new homes here in the US.
I didn't want to have to post a story saying that I was sorry, so instead, I just prayed.
God doesn't need international paperwork. He has other plans for these quilts.
About an hour after the phonecall that started the panic button in my head, I got an email saying that shipping had been approved! Just like that, things went from doom and gloom to Praise and Glory!
Tuesday, these quilts will be on their way, into the hands of kids who need our hugs. Tomorrow will be 3 months since the horrible earthquake and tsunami that devistated a country. In 3 months, with all of your help, we have been able to make and collect over 1,000 handmade quilts that will bring comfort and warmth.
Thank you! And Praise God! To Him be the glory :)
