the neurologist today believes I have a special kind of migraine called Trigeminal neuralgia, or Fifth nerve which comes from a nerve in my face. He is giving me a new pain medication based off ibuprofen, which I can take once I'm off prednisone because it can really mess with your stomach. If that doesn't work, there is an antiseizure/blood pressure medicine to try, then Botox, then, inject the nerve with something to calm it down. Least invasive thing first thank you very much. But, if I come back to school looking 15 years old, you know I've tried the botox!
I was reading online and found out that very few people have this disorder. Aren't I lucky?
In the meantime, I can't take any other pain meds, other than Tylenol, which is like saying oh, just take a spoon full of sand when you have a headache. Which, right now, I do have a very nice one going along. Oh, well, at least I'm special. I think I will make myself a quilt :)

Oh, man, no fun. But at least it's an answer and possibly solutions. Be sure to read the side effects of any new meds, though- I still have kidney stones from migraine medication I was on (haven't taken it in 3 years) which is why I love cranberry lemonade.
Hope this is the beginning of the end of the pain for you!
Hey, at least they have a better chance of treating it knowing what they are dealing with. And, if insurance picks up tests with botox I'd sign up!
I too hope that this is the beginning of the end of the pain for you. Very promising sign!
Big quilty hug.

I have heard of that disease and treatment. (I have migraines too--so know how you feel). Go for the botox and look younger while feeling better!
That does not sound like any fun. I think you need a quilt to snuggle under for a long nap.
